CAO’s 2023-2024 Annual Report marks important corporate achievements and industry developments in Ontario’s growing condo sector

Sep 23, 2024

We are pleased to launch our 2023-2024 Annual Report! We were proud to continue supporting the more than 1.7 million Ontarians living and working in condos this last fiscal year. We remain committed to our vision for strong and vibrant condo communities in the province while providing information, education and dispute resolution.

Our report highlights that there are now more than 898,000 residential condo units and over 45,000 condo board directors in the province. Today, 57 per cent of newly registered homes in the province are condos.

Feedback for our mandatory director training remains very positive, sitting at 90 per cent satisfaction across four key KPIs.

During this reporting period, we made important strides in our communications and marketing activities. We launched a refreshed public website that has been very well received, increased our social media followers by 36 per cent and continued to provide important updates to the sector through a popular quarterly newsletter.

The Condominium Authority Tribunal also continued its activities in earnest, accepting 315 new cases and issuing 197 orders and decisions. These decisions provided important guidance to condo corporations in the sector who were facing similar issues.

Lastly but certainly not least, our highly skilled Information Services team continue to provide direct support to clients through phone and email, totalling more than 35,000 interactions last year.  We are very pleased that 87 per cent of clients who completed our satisfaction surveys agree that CAO’s information and services provide support and add value to the condo sector – that’s up by 2 per cent from the previous fiscal year.
